About This Event

Green Street is a social and environmental awareness program organized by Erodu Siragukal and Chithode Social Service Projects to create cleaner, healthier, and greener neighborhoods. The initiative promotes proper waste management by encouraging households to separate biodegradable and non-biodegradable waste and dispose of it responsibly. As part of the program, awareness sessions are conducted to educate residents about environmental protection, recycling, cleanliness, and community participation. Streets that successfully maintain cleanliness standards and follow waste segregation practices for 90 consecutive days are awarded the title “Green Street.” The project also includes regular monitoring, community involvement, tree planting, and the use of environmentally responsible practices. Recognized streets receive certificates, gifts, and public appreciation, motivating residents to work together for a sustainable and pollution-free environment.
